How far do the 12 sensors span? Can less sensors be used?

The number of sensors depends on the tree size, but in order to have a sufficient measurement result, it is important not to space out the sensors much further than around 30cm distance between them. Using fewer sensors than that may result in missing some data because of large gaps in the 2 dimensional measurement result. For a small tree, 4 sensors for example might be used, but every tree is different.
