Introduction
Thank you for joining our application for the International Society of Arboriculture
(ISA) Certified Arborist (CA) Exam. This guide will help you understand what information and documents you need to provide so we can:
- Create your ISA account; and
- Submit your exam application to the ISA on your behalf.
Please read this guide carefully and prepare everything listed before the deadline.
About the ISA Certified Arborist Exam
The ISA Certified Arborist Exam is an internationally recognized qualification for tree care professionals.
It demonstrates your knowledge and practical understanding of arboriculture, covering topics such as tree biology, risk assessment, maintenance, and safety practices.
In Hong Kong, candidates can take the exam either:
- through the ISA Hong Kong Chapter (paper-based exam), or
- at an authorized Pearson VUE testing center (computer-based exam).
We will create your ISA account using the information you provide. Please make sure all information is accurate and matches your Hong Kong ID card, as this will be used for exam registration and verification.
If you have already created an ISA account before, please let us know your login email (username) and password. We will need to log in to your existing account to submit your CA exam application on your behalf.
Please provide the following:
- Full legal name: Must match your HKID exactly
- Email address: Used for login and exam communication. We recommend using your personal email address (not your company one), because this will be your permanent ISA login name for all future certification and renewal activities.
- Phone number: For contact
- Mailing Address
- ISA Membership Number: This is your ISA membership ID if you are already an ISA member. If you are not yet a member, you can leave this blank.
When we create your account, we also set the login password. Please do not change the password until after your exam is completed, as we will need to log in to your account to manage your application and communicate with ISA on your behalf.
Once your account is created, you will receive a confirmation email directly from ISA.
Please double-check spelling. Your name in the ISA system must be identical to your ID document — otherwise, you may not be allowed to sit for the exam.
